Hi All! I have desired to move to "Otp"or a outskirt area from Orlando for a number of years ...I just don't know if I'm making a mistake? Orlando In my opinion stinks for the people who live here (22 years) or that don't have lots of money to buy their kids yearly Universal passes and such.I'm a single mom with 3 special needs kids. And I have basically have no family but my Mom and a few Good friends. Most of my Income is not based on a outside job so I don't need to work everyday but pick up extra work when I can and I have my own transportation. My children are also biracial so I want for us to be accepted in the area. So I would love to hear your opinion! Thanks

There's plenty of great places to consider- the biggest question is, what's your budget?

Default Budget?

Hi Bob nice to meet you,I can afford to rent monthly around 600-800 at best 850 for a 3bed we prefer a house because of the kids but it's the overall move-in cost that is pulling at me! I'm at a higher end of low income me, the kids, my mom (five of us) (34.6k)+ so still generally I qualify as low income.I have a friend in Norcross I have kind of been looking there and also Stone Mountain and Decatur It's such a big area I really need help! Thanks

Even at $850, you're going to end up in some pretty ratty areas of town if you need a 3-bedroom house. $850 doesn't rent a decent 2-bedroom apartment in many of the more desirable areas of town.

Agreed 850.00 will not take you to far in or around Atlanta. You will have to be in a fairly rough part of town or be way out side of Atlanta (and then what's the point of moving to Atlanta). If you are happy with Orlando then it may be best to stay or find a way to increase your housing allowance.
