DC has the highest aids rate in America, higher than some countries in Africa plus most of the blacks are moving to the suburbs of Md

People move to the ATL thinking they will be living like kings and queens, but end up hating it because its not what they thought it would be. So the only other city that comes to mind is Houston, Tx where blacks are living well and the job market is pretty good right now. Charlotte maybe in contention as well. I LOVE Atlanta don't get me wrong, but I just wish folks would stop hyping it up to be everything to everyone. Because everything ain't for everybody...
People believe what they see in print and television. I am realizing that too many people are moving here for hyped reasons.

Statistically, Portland is the "whitest" city in America. But I think that's misleading. They are so liberal over there. There is even a Black Gay Pride in Portland.

BINGO! Whenever I go home to Mississippi, or whenever I travel, you should see how people light up whenever I tell them I live in Atlanta. People automatically assume that I'm "doin it big" or that I live in a big McMansion that I bought for $150,000 and that I meet Tyler Perry and TI and Ludicris everyday at the mall and that whenever Creflo Dollar prays, a Mercedes magically appears in my driveway and a little kid grows wings. Wrong, wrong, WRONG! I ensure them that Atlanta is NOT the only city in the country that is good for African Americans and to weigh their options and do their research because Atlanta is not for everyone.

Some people think that Atlanta is too fast paced for them, so I tell them to look at Charlotte or Nashville or Raleigh-Durham. I know of black people who don't want to be around all black people all the time, so I recommend other cities for them. See, I'm doing my part to solve the traffic problem, since the government doesn't seem to know what to do.

I don't necessarily think that any city would replace Atlanta as the Black mecca. Rather, just more cities to select from. However, I really don't see this as a bad thing. This shift is only going to make Atlanta more diverse.

Others that might are Charlotte, the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area of Virginia(Cities like Hampton, Chesapeake, VA Beach, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, etc.), Raleigh, Nashville and if this city could get some traction Minneapolis.

A sleeper city for blacks in my opinion is Madison Wisconsin. A city of 200,000 with a legitimately diverse school district in terms of teacher, administration and students. It is the state capital and has the University of Wisconsin too. Also, it is one of the best school districts in the country and Wisconsin is one of the best states in terms of education, as is Minnesota. Here's more on the Madison Metropolitan SD:Madison Metropolitan School District , About Each School | Madison Metropolitan School District

Some more cities to consider could beenver, Seattle(has more Black men than women) and Columbus Ohio.
