Some of us do follow the limits...sorry to break the news to you. No one is perfect, but going nearly TWICE the limit on a bike isn't the same thing as going 70 in a 65.

You came here to discuss what you did...don't be shocked when people give it to you straight.

[quote=neil0311;4110350]Sorry for being a blunt Yankee, but yours is the kind of attitude that causes and perpetuates the disgusting displays of horrible driving on Atlanta's roads.

I guess you mean the gridlock, morning/evening rush hour. Yeah, I'm the guy in the Emergency Lane, on the CCT Xpress Bus, doing 99 while everyone else is bumper to bumper.

3. i noticed on the ticket the cop said it was dark and it was dry out. it was 8:38pm and it had been raining so the conditions he put are not correct. Also, he should of cited me for a construction zone and didnt, so on these points, could it be argued that other information was also incorrect?

thanks.
I practiced law for over 30 years. Use that argument only if you want to give the judge a laugh and ensure a maximum fine.

Believe it or not, most of the time I reply to posts I don't even look to see the name of the poster. I'm relying to posts and comments - not the individual people. So don't be paranoid - I'm not out for you.

The fact that "no one" drives 55 on I-285 still does not mean that the left lanes have an "unlimited speed limit" on them. The speed limit BY LAW is 55 - technically, anyone, in any lane, that drives over the speed of 55 is subject to being pulled over and given a ticket for speeding. Now, 99.5% of the time chances are you won't be pulled over for speeding because it's too dangerous for cops to pull people over on 285, and there are too many to go after anyway - so they usually only make the exception in cases like this one where the person is WAY over the speed limit.

Are there morons who try to drive 50 in the left lane? Yes. Are they as much of a danger as those who speed or drive in other wreckless ways? Yes. But as someone else has stated, we're not talking about someone going 10mph over the limit like most do - we're talking about someone who approached going TWICE the speed limit. That's a completely different category than run of the mill Atlanta speeders. No cookie from me.

No moving violations in 29 years of driving. That doesn't mean I don't speed (as you've said, there are times when you have to in order to fit in wiht the traffic flow), but it does mean I'm usually not stupid about it.

Your flippant attitude about doing 99 outside of an organized racing context speaks for itself, I think. Don't like my attitude, tough ****. It is STUPID to be going that fast, especially on a bike.
