So, I'm wondering how the fine and court system work up in Cobb County.

I'm new to GA and just got pulled over for going 85 in a 55 on I-75 S (though I really doubt I was going as high as 85, the world may never know...). As it is the merry tide of Christmas, the officer threw the book at me and gave me a ticket for 85 mph, this qualifying me for the $200 super speeder fine.

I'm curious how much the initial fine will be before super speeder is added on? More importantly, those who have been to court in Cobb County, what are the chances the solicitor knocks my speed down if I offer to plead guilty? I have no prior speeding tickets and have been driving for about 5 years now. I doubt I can bargain it down to a <14 no points violation, but if I can get the super speeder fine thrown out I'll retain some pride.

Thanks, and I apologize to all those who will be tailgating me for the next few months while I go the posted limit as to avoid another ticket.

Pay the fine and slow down. No excuse for doing 30 mph over the limit.

I usually never speed neil, thought the limit was 65 and was caught on a downhill driving a manual (just bought it in october, had always driven automatic). So, I didn't mean to speed and I honestly don't think I was at 85. But that's all besides the point.

I'm asking the probability of getting the fine lowered. I just paid off my a ton of loans and still have car and insurance payments (insurance will rise).

Everyone makes a mistake, chill out, its Christmas.
