Hopefully this report is accurate.

Would have posted in study thread, but this news seemed a bit more substantial and I didn't want it to get buried in a thread.

Well that sucks. I was looking forward to being in Biloxi to play poker within 3hrs for half the price of a plane ticket.

Although, if it is anything like Europe, the savings over flights will not be that big...for the high speed sections that is.

You got an updated map? This it? LINK

This is simply not true......things are still in their infancy when it comes to High Speed Rail. There is absolutely no way to predict which regions will and will not be getting it.

Crappy, Crappy! Its the old Amtrack system! Atlanta still does not connect to Detriot, Chicago & St Louis like it should.

Hows your MARTA funding going? Its pretty predictable for the South , it will be a long time before you have any true HSR lines down there...

It sucks, but hey, what can you do? We're in a recession.

How's that transit tunnel in Jersey....oh, wait, that got cancelled. NJ Gov Cancels Largest Transit Project in the Nation - Regional Plan Association

You really shouldn't come lecture us about transit funding...especially when your state just literal dumped almost half a billion dollars in a big giant hole.

Ummm , i wasn't for that project , no one supported it in the Rail community up here......it was more of a political project.
