It's pretty substantial the difference in rain totals over the past couple of weeks from West Tempe (AZ Mills Area) to where I live near McClintock. Last weekend, AZ Mills parking lot was flooded only making half the available spots accessible. Yet, where I lived near McClintock had no rain that day.

Regardless, I enjoy the Monsoons being from NY. May and June is my least favorite part of the year just due to the redundancy of the weather. I enjoy the active weather even though the humidity makes it tougher for some than the dry 115's of June.

UPDATE: with the most recent rainfall totals, this is now the second wettest July in Flagstaff with 6.97 inches. Their wettest July ever was 7.58 inches in 1919. Incidentally, Flagstaff's wettest month ever was February of 1993 with 10.05 inches of precipitation.

What I meant by the monsoon being more widespread this year was how it has impacted a wider area across the SW than usual. Palm Springs getting heavy rain is a little unusual this time of year, but when thunderstorms break out across the San Diego area in July, that's even more unusual.

Page has stayed dry from what I can see this month. Even Cameron has gotten a little action and they are in the rainshadow as well. Two weekends back, I drove from 100 and sunny in Cameron and as soon as I got south of town near Gray Mountain the clouds built and temps dropped to 80 before getting a storm near the SF Peaks.

K, rain last night. A good one. About 10:30 or so I heard a bang, looked out a window, and yo!

Lightning, thunder, and a hard rain. Enough to soak my lawn.

Might have something tonight as well.

Hubs said when he went to work this morning (6 am) Mohave Valley was wet, nothing was wet until he got to Bullhead, and it was wet there. So you got some good rain, too.

No complaints from me about Flagstaff's monsoon so far. It's a little more humid than I care for this year (or maybe I'm just not remembering past monsoon seasons correctly), but we'll take every drop we can get.

Last night thunder woke me up about midnight. When I ran errands in Needles this afternoon the train trestle underpass was crazy muddy and Basha's parking lot was flooded again. Dirt all over the roads there.

Rumor has it we'll be getting more rain Sunday-Tuesday.
