Reviving an old thread.

I can pick from several phones/plans with my new employer ( small company was merged with larger one, it's a good thing ) and one choice is the EVO 4G with Sprint.

Wondering if anyone can provide updates on what seems to be/have been spotty service and dropped calls.

I'll primarily be using the phone when I am NOT in Albuquerque but can replace my personal cell phone with it, which I'd like to do.

Other choice is one of two Driods with Verizon. I'm a current Verizon customer and am happy with them but I like the Sprint phone better.

Advice?

My daughter has Sprint and my husband has Verizon. She has much better service than he does.

I hate to revive such an old thread but:

Is anybody else having serious issues with Sprint data connections lately? It was okay a little over a year ago when I signed up, but the last few months it seems to be getting worse by the week.

Sprint service was fine for me until late summer (August maybe) of last year. It got worse and seemed to peak last month. There were huge areas of ABQ where I could not get a data signal (I could count on one hand areas where I could access data). The roaming alert would go on constantly. At one point, when I called CS and they checked my home address, I was told there were THREE Sprint towers within a 2 mile radius of my house…and they were all down.

The past few weeks, it seems to be improving. Not great, but getting better. My guess is they're finally wrapping up some of the tower upgrades (they've been upgrading ABQ to 4G for months now) and a few went back on line. I can get data access about 80% of the time at my house now, and call quality has improved. I still encounter roaming notices, but not as frequently. Data is still not accessible in certain areas, but other areas that were dead before seem to have picked backup the past few weeks (I work at client offices all over the city).

It's still not great, but at least I can see some improvement from what I was getting over the past 6 months or so.

Sprint or Verizon seems to good (I've had both at the same time), but AT&T sucks.
