They installed cameras at intersection in NYC, then one by one they started to get stolen.

As for jobs, has anyone noticed that unempolyment in the country is approaching 10%? It's not easy getting a job anywhere.

What you folks are saying about medical service concerns me. I am planning to move to ABQ next year with my 35 year old son. At age 70 I need good, reliable medical service that you don't have to wait months for to get an appointment. Also my son has a secure job and based on what I've read here maybe he should stay in NY and not move with me.

Any opinions on whether I should make the move?

i would agree, we did have Pres while we were there and I really can't complain. I had a couple of heart proceedures, was happy with the care and the outcome, I didn't care particularly for the doctors. Again, the care is really more important. We had a few other health related problems. One was skin cancers (both simple and very serious) agian, no problems with care and we got our appointments in a timely manner, but there is room for a lot of improvement. We didn't even have a specialist in our county on a regulare basis (any specialists) and we had no hospital. They still don't. At least Pres did have an office in our town and an occassional specialist would spend a day or so every week or two there.

People call New Mexico the Land of Entrapment because, generally speaking, salaries are really low. The cost of living is low as well, so one can maintain a decent standard of living, but it is hard to save money to move to a more expensive place on a New Mexico salary. Some people in Albuquerque are lucky enough to work for national or international companies and live quite luxuriously here hence the fact that there is no shortage of mansions and luxury cars. Likewise, there are people here who make minimum wage and can live in a house, something that would be unthinkable in a place like the NYC metro area.

I work for a local business and make about 40% of the national average for my job title.

On the other hand, if you have to be trapped somewhere, there are few places in country as nice as New Mexico!
