I don't know if I'd go that far, but more often than not I use the quick "rate this post" and leave no message than use the scales. It saves time, and serves its purpose: the post was worthy.

However, what I don't understand--and it may be my age--is why reputation is taken so seriously that people argue about it, in favour, or opposed. How do they really affect our participation? I go on offering my opinions with or without them.

I didn't get a chance to vote on this due to the short poll duration, but I agree w/ disabling neg. reps. I've seen this happen on many other forums that introduce the rep. system. Admins. and mods. tire after neg. rep. abuse and wind up disabling that feature. Thanks for asking us for our opinion.

From personal experience, on C-D, I never NR'd anyone and I was only NR'd once b/c someone disagreed w/ my post. A moderator undid that NR.

Thank you Mods-great job.

This forum is a pleasure-there is so much negativity in everyday life, we don't need it here.
