LEx #823623 A complaint was received that stated a customer found a plastic glove in their beverage after obtaining ice from the left ice/soda machine. Then GM was present when EHS arrived. When asked she indicated that she was aware of this complaint. The cups offered to dine in customers are stored in a new sanitary dispensing unit. The ice machines are mounted directly above the bins and deposit completed ice into the bin without employee intervention. EHS requested a step ladder and was able to look inside the left ice bin via the inspection port. The visible area of this ice bin appeared to be in clean condition and to contain only ice. When asked GM indicated that the machines and bins are cleaned every 2 weeks and were cleaned this past Saturday. The ice dispensing chute was noted in need of cleaning in that there appeared to be dust on the exterior and mild to moderate lime scale with other discoloration on the interior. Upon EHS request GM filled a cup (large) with ice from the left machine. The ice appeared to dispense in a normal fashion. Based upon the observations made during this inspection, unable to determine how the glove and other plastic came to rest in complainant's cup.
