Found 3 badly dented cans. I separated them and pointed them out to the manager. Discussed reminding employees to check cans for dents before putting them on the shelves. The dented cans need to be separated.
At time of inspection the front doors were propped open. Per manager they were in the process of moving merchandise outside. Discussed not leaving them open for a long period of time due to pests. The doors were closed.
In the back storage area I found several dead insects and what appeared to be mouse feces. Per manager the facility is treated by Terminix and they were last out a couple of weeks ago. Discussed that it might be a cleaning issue opposed to an ongoing pest issue. You need to sweep in these areas and monitor. If you see new signs of pests contact your licensed pest company. Keep all invoices so that I may look at them in the future.
The floors in the back by the walls had an accumulation of debris, dust and dead insects. The dead insects can actually become food for other insects. You need to keep these areas clean so that you can monitor for pests. Also the floor by the coolers in the front were dirty or stained.
