Description: This festival was started as a fund-raiser by the Paseo Arts Association in 1976. It is held annually in the historic Paseo Arts District on Memorial Day weekend. It features the work of artists from around the region.There are over 80 fine artists working in a variety of media; live music on two stages; food, such as corn dogs, burritos, and Indian tacos; performance art; and a children’s activity tent. The most notable act is the living Will Rogers’ statue.Approximately 50,000 people attend this event each year. Some areas charge a parking fee. Admission is free. The event goes on, rain or shine.

Description: “On your mark, get set, go wild” is the mantra for this event. Children 11 and under can go for the gold in Zoolympics as they participate in a variety of events, such as Joey Jump, Roar Like a Lion, and Lily Pad Leap. Each event features educational and interactive elements sure to capture the imagination of any young Zoolympian. There are a total of 10 events in all and each has been designed with consideration toward children with disabilities. Every child is a winner and he or she creates their own medal to wear and take home. This event is held on the zoo grounds on the same day as the Ostrich Egg Breakfast, but is a separate event. It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Zoolympics is free with zoo admission.

Description: This event is part of Edmond’s LibertyFest celebration and it draws thousands of visitors. It is held at the Festival Market Place located west of Broadway on First Street. Filling downtown Edmond with the aroma of tasty foods from various restaurants around the community, this event is a fund-raiser for LibertyFest. Some of the restaurants that have participated are Coach’s Restaurant, Othello’s of Edmond, Namaste Indian Cuisine, Ted’s Café Escondido, Hideaway Pizza, and Interurban to name a few. Visitors who pay the entrance fee can sample the different kinds of specialties these restaurants have to offer. This is an all-you-can-eat family tradition that began back in 1990. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 10 and under.

Description: Hosted by the Oklahoma Zoological Society, Zoobilation is the major fund-raiser for the Oklahoma City Zoo. First held in 1993, this all-adult, casual event is held outdoors, usually on a Fri night from 7 to 11 p.m. and includes food samplings from local restaurants, live entertainment, keeper chats, and a silent auction. Tickets prices are $75 per person and include all food and drink. The event is typically held outside rain or shine. Guests must be at least 21 years old to attend.

Description: This festival is held on the corner of Oklahoma Avenue and Sheridan in the parking lot. Huge tents are erected to give some relief from the sun, and both local and nationally known bands come to perform. Past performers include the Ark Band, Mystic Vibe, Kinky Slinky, and Local Hero. Vendors sell Caribbean foods, beer, soft drinks, hats, tie-dye T-shirts, and more. For live music, food, and fun don’t miss this event. Over 40,000 typically attend. Admission is free.
