1. Clambake Seafood Restaurant

City: Scarborough, ME
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (207) 883-4871
Address: Route 9

Description: Not far from Pine Point Beach, this seafood joint has both a cafeteria-style sit-down dining room and take-out, which is nice because you can grab a pint of fried clams and head to the beach. There is seating for 700 here, which all but eliminates any waiting, and many tables have nice views of Scarborough Marsh. Always busy in midsummer, the Clambake is a favorite among Greater Portland seafood fans, and it’s popular with tourists as well. The menu is deep with seafood, but you can get grilled chicken if you must. Start with some chowder and follow it up with a twin lobster dinner. All dinners are served with choice of potato, Caesar salad, coleslaw, and bread. You won’t go home hungry; the place prides itself on serving size.
