Description: If dance sometimes resembles floating, flying, and swooping through air, Frequent Flyers Productions really makes it so. The company uses trapezes to set dancers free of gravity. It all began in 1988 with a chilling performance inspired by Anne Rice’s vampire novels. Now, the company offers workshops and classes for adventurous folks age 10 and older, along with periodic performances (the vampire program has become a Boulder staple at Halloween, drawing a repeat audience with many in full white-faced, fanged, black-clad regalia).The company’s annual Aerial Dance Festival brings together aerial artists from around the world for a week of performance, experimentation, teaching, and discussion. Faculty demonstrated their talents on the trapeze, stilts, ropes, and harness and bungies.
