I just found out our Assessors are all WFH ONLY now.

The walnut office we built for them must be rented out for "highest and BEST use!"

Surely our taxes will soon reflect that efficiency

Next yr efficiency improvements? AI assessment. ! We have the technology

Probably our property taxes will greatly diminish soon.

Imagine... AI schools, no need for classrooms or buses or buildings or staff or security services. That alone will reduce tax need by 50%. Other admin services should easily drop taxes another 25%.

Roads will only be used by Amazon... Until drones are adequate.

Tele-med can drop HC needs to minimal personal contact. No more waiting 6-8 months for appts or surgeries. (Some nations are far along here, because they are not burdened with systems than encourage inefficiencies.)

Many government buildings are less than 50% occupied... but none want to give up square footage.

Family received updated tax evaluation on our late grams home. Up to $845K from $720K. Cost $180K furniture and all in 1994.
The assessment on my land doubled, yet I only have about 4,000sq/ft usable of my acreage.

Affordable is a term used everywhere and often it is price of Real Estate and Mortgage Interest Rates.

Seldom have I heard property tax in the mix...

It's a big part of the research here, because it's gotten so high, with no state income tax. We are looking at homes where the property tax rate is shown on the listing at about 1/4 what we pay now at this house. Our tax assessor is very much up-to-date with the market value. When our values recently dropped a bit from $1.4M to 1.2M they didn't drop the assessment or the tax.

Yep… nearly triple in a little over 15 years…

Unless I win the lottery no way could I pay close to double my projected Social Security just for property tax unless I keep working into my 70’s

The reason no income tax in Washington is after paying property tax many are finding little left.

I did all my due diligence and projections before I bought my home in Washington with I-747 being the deciding factor… never imagining a voter approved imitative of the people could be changed by a Judge in King County…

Time for us to "rotate out" for the next wave of rich out of staters seeking their "no income tax haven" ...

I wish no income tax was universally helpful... but, you can be a Washingtonian but if earning in California you pay California Income Tax.

My flaw was thinking property tax as sustainable with the passage of I-747.

Chelan County, thinks the house is worth $516,000 dollars!!!

Increase of 200% over last year.

What are you assessments showing??
How's the view?
