Sounds no different from before. The mandate was lifted for vaccinated people in certain situations. No favor is being done, it's like celebrating rights we already have.

Hide and watch as numbers return to increase. Let’s open up, pretend it’s over, we only killed half-a-million.

The vast majority of Americans are still alive, let’s get on with our lives. Typical stupid American reaction
This thread is about Washington, and we do have access to the vaccine.

How long should we wait to get on with our lives?

No these announcements mean nothing to me, absolutely zip. Everyone has access to building a healthy body and immune system and avoiding situations if they're so fragile and obese.

This is still America if you need to be babied and dictated move to Ontario.

The weather is nice. I for one plan to enjoy it by eating outdoors at restaurants.

Everybody in Chelan and Douglas counties has been able to get vaccinated for over a month now.

Even started vaccinating people like with coastie neighbors. Is there a reason vaccine is not available in western Washington??

At some point, if you don't want to be vaccinated that fine, but I won't be wearing a mask to protect you.

No one said you cannot get on with ‘your lives’. Last I checked, wearing a mask only limits food intake and in most places mask can be removed for eating. The mask situation comes down to the American BS belief that ‘I’m not going to let others decide to require me to do anything I don’t like’ even if it is as simple as wearing a mask to protect others.

Oh, by the way, the no mask requirement is nation wide, not just Washington.

I see Vegas is going mask-free now.

The numbers of folks getting vaccinated is approaching 50%, but the trend is slowing? So now begins phase 2. Those who are vaccinated are of sufficient numbers they we can start removing their masks, to increase herd immunity. This should eventually dominate the covid spreading.
I believe this was the plan all along. Trump medical experts team knew everyone wasn't going to get vaccinated, and they certainly weren't going to mandate it. That would be more of a Dem thing, but won't happen now, either.
What they didn't know was, how many would get vaccinated, and how soon. I blame the election-year media for that delay, which caused way more lives than it should have.
I plan to go mask-free in Vegas, you know, to help the cause.

I hate wearing a mask. I hate talking about masks with people who think they're no big deal. Restaurants are not the only place masks affect life. Up til now I've been required to wear a mask during all appointments with clients. Many people have to wear them all day at work. I can't imagine.

My husband belongs to an orchestra that cannot currently meet or perform. Should we just eliminate orchestras and concerts even if all who perform want to be there? How about plays and movies? Want to go see The Music Man with the cast all wearing masks? Or are plays something you no longer think are important?

You think it's OK to make kids wear them while running and playing sports? Will kids grow up never breathing fresh air or seeing people's faces except on TV? It's bizarro world we're living in, just 15 days they said... and I am tired of it. How many years of my life should I have to wear one in public when I am vaccinated, not vulnerable, and not passing it along? Do you not see how irrational that is to seemingly want this mask habit to continue indefinitely? They've become a big security blanket for people.

People are acting like we've never faced a virus before. We have... worse ones than this. People have lost their minds over this one. We've become unable to functionally weigh and make decisions about risks any more. We have more information available than ever before and we have less ability to understand it.

We did the mask thing for a year. Now we've got the vaccine and it appears to be safe and effective. That means we can and should stop wearing masks everywhere. This is how it's supposed to work. This is a test to see if we can recover some of these vital life skills we've lost. I hope so.

I just read that CDC is no longer going to consider/track/count mild and asymptotic break through cases. Just reported today. Like what is going on?!? Suddenly it seems everything is totally fine. Those here concerned about your neighbors spreading the deadly virus... CDC no longer seems overly concerned.

I am betting my favorite local coffee shop ditches masks first. They were closed for a month (when they could have been open) but they quickly became more liberal about seating and social distancing. They pretty much carried me through the pandemic from last May 1st onward.

Just had lunch out. No masks required if you’re vaccinated sign on the door, felt great honestly.
