I know there are a couple snow related thread in the Seattle Forum, but the *snowfall* in the next day or two is expected to be region-wide, so I thought I would post a thread here too in the general Washington forum!

Here's Cliff Mass's prediction of what is to come tomorrow night and into Saturday:
https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2019/...it-region.html

We have purchased all of our supplies, have extra hay on hand for the animals, propane for the stove, gas for the generators... a little booze for the people! We live up a loooong private road that does not get plowed, so if it gets very deep we're usually in for the duration.

Is everyone else ready?

North of the Chuckanuts, we're actually in the extended Fraser River Valley area and tend to get weather that differs quite a bit from the rest of the Puget Sound area. From the looks of it, the colder, drier air will fight off the moisture-so we'll be getting get no snow in Bellingham, just lower temps and yet another windstorm.

So, we're ready, but not all that excited and setting the expectations rather low.

No offense, but calling "up to 9 inches" of snow "Snowmaggedon 2019" just totally made my day.

I think we got that much snow twice last week.

Yes, we got 12", and most of it is still there. It was nice this morning to see the temperature all the way up to 25F after so many days in the teens.

Well it was said with a *bit* of humor intended… though it may be an event of some significance.

The dismissive reactions of others from snowier regions are why it’s funny!

Of course with our many hills and curves, ravines, ditches and tall trees lining most of our roads, if we get half the amount of snow predicted it will be a major event for those of us here.

We will get through it but it is news!

This is shaping up to be the coldest February that I can remember....if you look at the 10 day forecast, it only gets worse. What happened to our mild winter...is this la Nina doing her thing?

My realtor friend just called me 10 minutes ago and told me he just tried to drive from Sequim to PA for an appointment and had to turn around.
It wasn’t anything really bad but it was 3 new inches he wasn’t expecting.
