Would it be better to find a long blonde or black hair in your salad? Do you think that whenever you see a 20 year old with long hair in the store?

Long hair doesn't fall out and get in food any more than short hair. You can just find it and remove it more easily I would think.

Do what you want.

Me? I like the look of long hair better probably 95%+ of the time on woman.

Piney, you look wonderful! It's interesting to notice as the grey (inevitably) creeps in, what pattern(s) form. I've got a Bonnie Raitt white streak at one of my temples, but the rest is gray/brown/reddish blonde. Shoulder length. It's liberating to let it go after years of trial & error hair dyeing, both professionally and out of the box. Rock it, girl!

I like the idea of going natural, but the contrast between the grey and my dark hair made it look terrible as it was growing out. I thought about going the Sinead O'Connor route and just shaving all the dark hair off, but didn't want to do that either. After I moved here I found out the secret is to first go blonde. Then the greys grow in very naturally. If you look at the photo you'll see I currently have about 4-5 inches of the grey, but it blends in and looks fine. When the grey gets about 5 inches longer I can chop off the blonde and then I'll be completely natural.
That is what i did. Just kept going lighter until the gray blended in.

I found an old photo of myself and female siblings. All with dark hair - all not natural. Yikes - scary .

I had long hair in school and even in the military - i kept it long.

So i guess this is me. Long hair for life.

I want mine short and sexy. The sexy part is I don’t have to spend much time washing it.

^^^^^^^^ You are a lucky person. My hair has almost always been short but I have to wash it almost every day because I have extremely oily hair. And I don't know what else I can do about it.

Ideas?

Seems tome that if your man likes to play with your hair, ask him.
If he is strictly hands off the it may not matter at all .
Personally I liked playing with my wife's hair and giving her a message ,she enjoyed it, and I enjoyed doing it .
If you are single looking for a man ,starting long gives one a basis to start with that is easily altered .
Some of the reason he is interested is due to looks after all.
Short hair denotes independence and a butch like mentality. Some men might actually like that .
I like people that think for them self.

I've had both long and short as an older woman. Right now it's long and I'm loving it. My husband loves it too. 70%+/- gray and happy. I didn't need to take a poll. I just grew it.
