It's amusing that Jesus is commonly pictured as having blue eyes but doubtful that he did.
Why is this myth perpetuated?
Most serial killers have/had blue eyes, as did Hitler.

Does it matter? What does matter is when Jesus returns his eyes are going to be "flame of fire", Revelation 19:12.

It could have been any color. Ancient Israeli's DNA match people of Spain, Italy and Greece. Ancient Egyptian DNA matches those of Europe.

I'm an old-time Perry Como fan, but there's one song I despise:

If Jesus was real -- and I believe he was -- he was what he was.

Yeah I don't have an opinion so I'm not voting. No one knows. I can't imagine it mattering even to a Christian.

Who cares? The Jesus we know from scripture that matters is embodied in what we call the "mind of Christ." It has nothing to do with His physical characteristics! We should use the "mind of Christ" as our guide when reading the scriptures because our ancestors' minds were conditioned by their primitive beliefs in a wrathful and vengeful War God. Jesus made it abundantly clear that God IS agape love and forgiveness and demonstrated it unambiguously on the Cross. That perfect agape love is the characteristic of Jesus we should care about as Christians.

That's fine. But it's not fine that many christians have westernized a Middle Eastern figure.

For the same reason that little white kids tend to play with white dolls. It's because that's what they're familiar with. Historically, people have drawn/painted him/imagined him in a way that is familiar.

It's more than likely he had olive skin tone. And most Christians I know realize that. We don't think he's a white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is ethnically Jewish/middle-eastern.
