Growing up a Catholic, Jesus was always depicted a certain way.
Certainly Anglicized, with long light brown hair and greenish eyes.
Of course, he probably didn’t look like this.
But there is no reference to his physical description in the scriptures, so it is impossible to know.
It's amusing that Jesus is commonly pictured as having blue eyes but doubtful that he did.
Why is this myth perpetuated?
Most serial killers have/had blue eyes, as did Hitler.
In older Sunday School literature, yes. No one knows what color eyes Jesus had. Jesus is often portrayed as having the appearance of the people who are worshiping him. That's all.

I went to Google Images, typed “Jesus” and looked at the images that appeared. Some of them are of a blue-eyed Jesus, but many aren’t. I think it’s common knowledge today that Jesus was not a Northern European white guy.
The bigger thing for me is, “why do nearly all images that appear through Google Images show Jesus with a beard?” I don’t like beards but if everyone back then had one, I guess it’s correct, but who knows.

Well think about it -- how does one get rid of beards? With razors. I haven't looked it up but I would be surprised that the average person had access to any sort of device for completely removing facial hair. It is possible (they knew how to work metals) but into something as delicate and precise as a razor? I don't know. It would have been a question of cutting and trimming, but I am not sure "clean-shaven" was even a concept except possibly among the elites.

Good point.
Well, if Jesus had a beard, I’ll try to accept them.
