I dont think so either. Why do you think one sibling among others decides to do such a thing?

I really think it's the sibling's choice to do right or wrong.

My only point was that Love is a choice, and I used spousal love as a metaphor.

As one who believes in Christ, and believes I am "saved", could I be deceived if I'm not in fact predestined as one of the " elect"? Even if I confess belief, faith, and love for God?

The opposite of love is hate.

A father who walks away from his children and becomes a deadbeat dad is not acting in a loving way. In fact, his actions might cause his children to suffer immensely. He has abandoned his responsibilities and dumped them on someone else.

God would never abandon his children. He is there for all of us.

You could fall out of grace.

Hogwash! There is no further description needed for such a preposterous belief.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckess, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

What if he is mentally compromised? If you dont have all your faculties functioning can you still have control over your actions?

If the person is incapable of understanding the difference between right and wrong then they won't know if they are doing something wrong.

God would know whether the person didn't understand what they were doing.
