So, is it okay with you if non-christians burn bibles?

Book burning is, of course, not the mere disposal of private property. While it is that, it also has deep cultural connotations. It represents not merely the destruction of individual books but of the ideas presented within them so that no one may know those ideas. It is imbued with the historical legacies of conquerors who sough to annihilate the cultural identities of those they conquered by destroyed their written records, of those regimes such as the Nazis and communist who used book burnings as symbolic of those ideas they did not merely wish to counter with their own ideas but to obliterate entirely without mercy.

It is repugnant.

Note for the obtuse:
No, I do not think it should be illegal. But it should be pointed out for what it is.

It should be illegal for public, including school, libraries to burn them.

So the Devil is responsible for books that denounce the Holocaust? Did your God think that was a good thing?

Children should not be able to read books from their own school library that as LBGTQ folks in them?

How do youbpersonally feel about others burning your Bibles or other books about your religion?

Burning books, desecrating artifacts, and any violent destruction is the epitome of savage ignorance and superstition that should never be socially acceptable behavior. It should have legal consequences if it involves public or private property that is not yours. But if they are your own legal property it should have no legal ramifications.

I don't get the Christian hate for Harry Potter. It's a story about Good vs. Evil, and the main character sacrifices himself to save others.

What's even more confusing for me is the celebration of the Narnia books.

I'm sure in the former it's all the magic, including 'black magic' type stuff.
And in the latter isn't the older boy an almost Knights Templar type character when he goes on his quest? (A little fuzzy in my mind, but there is some theme like that.

Ok so black magic vs white magic. I thought all magic was bad.

The Narnia books are Christian allegories, but they use almost the same exact imagery as Harry Potter. Modern-day English kids transported to a world of basically pagan, Germanic mythology.

I have to admit that I haven't read any of the books, but have enjoyed the films of both series.
