Vizio, are you reading this thread?

Do you see why "Christian morality" (ie blind obedience to an all-powerful bully) is absolutely insane?

According to Jimmiej, it sounds like the children were "collateral damage."

Don't you have to wonder if jimmie would be OK with it, if , today, the role of CPS was to take the kids out of the homes of drug dealers and adulterers and those with 20 parking tickets and not place them elsewhere but just line them up and shoot them?
Relative to the op, though, I guess it may be part of the answer as to why believers like this need constant reinforcement to stay "good. I'd have trouble keeping beliefs like this, too, if I weren't reminded of it all the time.

What are you, some kind of mafia boss? A terrorist?

Only the worst sorts in our society would ever harm a child because of the actions of her parents. That's what you see villains in movies do all the time - they kidnap the children and threaten to murder them if the parents don't behave in some fashion desired by the villain.

THAT is what you are supporting ... a scenario that is part and parcel of the bad guy.

Don't you get that? How can you NOT get that?

Here's something else you should get:

You have been successfully maneuvered into a logical web - and the more you try to argue your way out of it the more tangled you become.

Now, here you are, trying so hard to both defend your God and save face at the same time that you're now advocating for some of the worst behavior our species is capable of displaying - most notably, killing children to punish the parents.

You need to quit. NOW. Because not only is your credibility being destroyed, so is any respect anyone might have had for you. Even your fellow ultra-Christians are staying away or haven't you noticed?

You will NEVER be able to juxtapose today's morality with the actions of your ancient god. It's never going to happen. Ever. The harder you try, the worse you look.

I am sure every parent in Noah's time loved their children, and wanted to protect them. There is no moral high ground believing innocent children deserved to be killed.

If you do not have the instinct to protect, you have no morals. Taking the moral high ground that such an act was righteous goes against what God finally understood. It was wrong.

God recognized this. OOPS... said he would never do it again. After all of that useless damage and loss of life... it came down to OOPS.

As Christians we put all our problems in the hands of the Lord through prayer. We are convicted by the Holy Spirit once we have accepted Him in to our life. He is our Comforter. We are all sinners saved His grace as we can't save ourselves.

Your lord acts like a mafia boss or power hungry dictator. Relying on someone like that to "save" you is just plain crazy.

I think I found the answer to my own question.
Christians proclaim that the devil resides within them so they're constantly battling with it.
Atheists threw the devil out along with all the other theist entities so don't have that constant problem.
