I believe, because everyone wants to have sex, so we wouldn't have devised modesty ourselves. However, I don't believe that our prayers are answered, but that's not what I'm asking. Was this quote directed towards us or just the apostles?

Why is sin punished and innocence seemly disregarded? It's evident that it is, bad people throughout history such as Hitler have been unhappy enough to kill themselves; people like Osama get killed by others. Most gay men get AIDs. Porn workers have higher rates of STDs. Soldier who kill, usually die themselves in war. Why won't God protect squirrels from dying as roadkill, since they are innocent? Why has the period of miracles presented in the New Testament ceased? Does that mean, in a way, evil is greater than good since all good things come to an end, and sin is eternal?

To the OP, YES it was meant for all people. There's no other way to interpret to mean anything other than what it says. Therefore, it is an outright lie and just something that a "man" made up.

YES YES AND YES. It's SO true it's not even funny. This year, EVERYTHING I asked God for has came true. I asked for the impossible and he made possible for me. Ya'll don't just know. It's all about faith. If you don't have it, then that's why your prayers don't work. It's hard. But you really have to trust in him. I remember last year or the year before, we fell into a situation that we were so financially crippled in, I thought we would be out on the street. We needed at least $500 to get out of there. Long story short - I asked God and received it! You need to have faith and trust in God! Ask, believe, and receive!

But also, word of caution. WATCH YOUR MOUTH. This year, I've been learning alot about the power of the spoken word. Which I read about in the Bible. God revealed to me what I was doing to my life with my words. I realized that alot of situations in my life and family's life could have been avoided had we spoken good things and blessings over it. My family tends to be very negative. We say negative things and have negative attitudes over issues that seem impossible to solve. Especially regarding finances. So we have had a lifetime of problems. This year, I have started changing everything. Now I speak what I want into existence. And I get them. I speak blessings into my life, my family's life, and others as well. I speak positive affirmations into my life. And you know what? So far, I've received every one. Why? Because of this verse right here.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

It took me a long time to realize that God was not playing with this verse. You really truly shape your reality by what comes out of your mouth. You can destroy and create with it. So please, watch yours and bless your life and others as well. I encourage everyone to make a list of goals and dreams and write them down and speak them into existence. They will happen.

If most of you people only knew what God has prepared in Heaven for innocent little creatures such as those squirrels and those greater than them such as lions and dinosaurs, you wouldn't feel so bad for ANY animal. They all have the same destiny. They are born and live on Earth for a time, then they die by whatever circumstance, and go on to Heaven. And they are VERY happy and safe in Heaven eternally.

Hey...it's great to know they'll all be "happy and safe in Heaven eternally"...but why does this God of yours require (or allow) such misery, pain, and incredible suffering beforehand??????

I'm not sure. But I do know that he said we would have trials and tribulations on this Earth. And that when we overcome it with faith and prayer, it makes us stronger in him. It's all for a divine purpose.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him

Another thing you have to understand is that God himself went through MUCH MUCH worse than any human will ever have on this Earth. Jesus was beat, bloodied, bruised, cut-up, ripped, shred, and torn in several places on his body by wicked people to save humanity for our sins that we may saved and see Heaven. So when I think about all our problems and our struggles and trials, I think about Christ and his sacrifice on the cross and I remember that nothing that I have been through in my life was as bad or as worse as what he went through on the cross to save me and you and everyone on this Earth for our sins.

John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

I just take faith. Our suffering is only for a little while.
