I'm 38. My husband is 40. Electrical Engineer. We have four children. 3 boys and 1 girl. Ages 17, 14, 11 and 4. Can't forget the Golden Retriever. Now you can see why I post late at night!!

40 does scare me a little bit. I'm just glad my husband turned 40 before I did.

Oh not only aren't we (I) ashamed...I embrace it ... I'm a competitive figure skater, did my first competition on my 39th birthday - 40 isn't just the new 30, 50 is - no worries here, I feel like a 25 year old sometimes (but I was sort of a mess at 25 so I'd rather be me now!)

(edited to note that I compete against other adults...not the kids!)

I'm not a mom, but...don't lie to your kids about this...

Most people guess much younger, so I guess thats a good thing. My 8 and 10 year old don't even know my real age, in fact the last birthday card my 10 year old made for me.. the age on the card was off by a few years. I know, pretty pathetic on my part. So, thanks to all of you for reminding me there is life after 40...(of course looking at George Clooney, I can still come to that conclusion myself) " and I should really be grateful I'm still here to talk about it.

LOL. And I'm 29 and have been that age for .........."x" years now.

Hubby is years old. Same as me. He's 13 days older though so I get to tease him about being an old man for just about 2 weeks out of every year.

I work full time--just went back FT after being PT/Consultant/SAHM for 12 years. Am currently woefully underemployed but did it for the flex schedule. That will change if NC job comes through.

He has been all over the board, job wise the past 5 years. They've been tough. Used to be SVP director of marketing for a mid-sized bank that "bought it" after 9/11 and the down turn of the economy. He was unable to find another job in the industry so he turned into a carpenter since he's very handy with a hammer. That turned into his own contracting biz which, unfortuantely, did not turn a profit. Hence our wanting to recoup our losses and try to make a go of it somewhere less expensive.

3 kids. 1 cat. 2 guinea pigs. 1 fish.

44 here.....well, 44 and a 1/2. Hubby is 40. Kids are 8 and 5. We've been here over a year, moved from NJ.

I work from home (sort of....now that my youngest will be in school, I'll have to make some money at it or get a real part time job) ON the computer so its too easy to slide on over here to check out what's going on. ;0

Me too Lauren...I do the ebay thing, selling children's boutique clothing...more of a hobby for me. Wish I could afford to stay home and do it exclusively....

middle age these days is as I am, 51. LOL "Never let your heart grow old and you never will". I may have a middleaged body, but I am young at heart and always will be.
