Talking Pow Wow on Sunday

Sunday Bjb123 and I are going to the Mohican State Parks Annual Native American Pow Wow. I'll get some pics and post them on the Ohio thread if anyone is intrested in seeing them. Or, I can post them on this thread if you would like.

I have been eavesdropping on your Ohio chat thread. Wow. Pretty rambunctious crowd you got there.

Here is a pic of Parker McKenzie, one of our Kiowa historians standing in front of the remains of the Rainy Mountain Indian School.

He tells the tale of going to school at around age 7 and not knowing a word of english. The teacher put a cowboy hat on a chair, and said, "Hat. A hat. The hat." He said he and the other students looked at each other and said, "Does this white woman see three hats?"

I know, we are kinda rowdy ain't we .

Loved the story, I'm going to have too remember that one. We have some teachers in the family and I'm sure they'll get a kick out of it.
