San Antonio might be an easier drive than Florida, too.

I've lived in San Antonio for over 8 years and have never been to Sea World.

Cedar Fair didn't want the extra competition. Cedar Point is not just an Ohio attraction but a regional one as well. Two parks in the northern half of the state probably didn't make much financial sense. Kings Island is far enough away to bring in money and people.

There used to be Geauga Lake Amusement Park and Sea World, separate parks. Then Six Flags bought Geauga Lake and named it Six Flags Ohio. They added a lot of rides during this time but somehow I felt like the park was already going downhill, at least quality wise (I'm not a big fan of six flags). Then Six Flags bought neighboring Sea World and combined them into one big park called Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. Like someone said though, SF isn't really in the animal business so they started shutting stuff down in that part of the park. Eventually, SFWoA went up for sale and Cedar Fair bought it. They operated it for like, what, a year or two maybe as the complete amusement park, but then closed it. The only part remaining open is the water park, Wildwater Kingdom.

Like jbchm81 said though, I think Cedar Fairs plan was to buy it all up and shut it down to begin with. Cleveland is undisputedly Cedar Points market, as well as Detroit/Toledo and they don't need to waste their resources operating a second park. Sad though. I liked Geauga Lake.

Wow, I had no idea of any of this until now. I was going to take my kids to Seaworld in Ohio this summer and found this looking for tickets. What a bummer, I used to go there when I was a kids... Guess the kids will have to wait until we go to florida

You are right there WAS a SeaWorld. it was next to Geauga Lake then they connected it to Geauga Lake. Before they switched to Six Flags they got rid of SeaWorld then went back to Geauga Lake. Last they sold all of the rides and the park no longer exists. I hate that they took good memories away form us that we could have recreated with our children. But it is life.

I was lucky to have been there in the 80s. This is what happens when corporations run things. The dollar is paramount. Unfortunately, corporate money is now buying state governments in wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio, to name a few states. Wake up America. Educate, Organize, Get out the Vote!

I saw a different kind of fish in one of the aquariums in Cincinnati. It said that a group of people found it lying by the shore. They say that it was the last of his species. I also remember about 15 people holding the fish so it was that long and i want to know about it. Does anyone remember something like that?

Question Last of Its Species

I saw a different kind of fish in one of the aquariums in Cincinnati. It said that a group of people found it -dead- lying by the shore. They say that it was the last of his species. I also remember about 15 people holding the fish so it was that long and i want to know about it. Does anyone remember something like that?

That is a real bummer about Sea World in Ohio. Me & my hubby were just driving back to Indiana from the Firekeepers Casino & I asked him if we could drive over to Ohio one day to spend the day at Sea World? I checkedonline & read this blog how disappointing! If anyone is familiar with the Fort Wayne area & has any suggestions for fun things to do within an hour or two let me know. I've been to the FW Children's Zoo, very nice! Great place to spend the day with or without kids!
