I'm overhearing people saying the old test is still going to be used for the next class. I've also heard that the old test is done with. Idk what to believe anymore. Anybody else have any insight or trusted sources of information?

I contacted DCAS customer service for an update on Exam 4551. The representative told me his system states an estimated completion date of September 21st.

I refuse to believe that this is true!

Yeah I can't see it taking that long. I know there were supervisors out because they were assigned to grading the exams the last week or so. However that is disheartening to hear that from DCAS.

Looks like a May 6th class is out the window. Hopefully May 20th is the date.

Anyone have any new info?

Last I heard the plan was to put one in around September same time as the San man class . And that the old list is done.

September?! Is there not a shortage of Supervisors from retirements and promotions to Superintendent?

I highly doubt they are going to wait until September to promote. They are very short and are only getting shorter by the week.

It’s all about budgeting and how many people can be hired/promoted and when, it’s all a lot deeper than oh supervisors must be very short, they’re making charts and vacations. So many factors go into it, holiday weeks, vacation weeks, span of control, how many people are currently sick, Lodi, MDA. I can say the citywide supervisor number across the whole department is around 1050, pretty much exactly where is been every spring the last 4 years, a simple report pull in smart can tell you that. It’s been as high as 1100 supervisors and as low as 990 supervisors in the last 4 years at any given time, but right now we’re right in the middle.

That being said, I have said this several times in the old thread and I will say it again here. Follow the pattern from 2020 (Fall Test, List came out 5/27, first class went in 6/8). Im not going to speak on rumors because they are all over the place, I can only speak on Fact which I’ve said here since early March, the old list is dead. In fact its anniversary date is 5/27/24, which is when I expect for it to officially expire, which is why I wouldn’t expect a supervisor class before 5/27 because they are going to let the old list officially die. Using that reasoning, I will stick with the 2020 pattern, List out in May, new supervisor class sometime in June (as long as the budgeting allows for it)
