West Side YMCA is the best all round gym. You have Central Park for jogging/running, it has an indoor track, two swimming pools, weight room, cardio room, boxing and kickboxing rooms, etc. Last time i was a member it was $110. You also have access to member classes.
If you want cheap gyms then try Planet Fitness, Blink and Retro Fitness.
Equinox is probably $500+ per month, but I did not find prices on the website.
I did tour TMPL and a Crunch. Both were way out of my price range. TMPL must have been around $380 per month if I remember correctly. Crunch was around $250 per month and the salesperson haggled it down to around $150 for me
But once you add in the year long contract and everything else, it makes me want to just exercise outside for free.
I just cannot afford Equinox or TMPL, but I still want to know where the most expensive and elite gyms are at and what they are like for the rich people.

My life is one big gym let alone dropping a few hundred
a month for one.
the things we normally do in life maybe movement but they aren’t cardio …
in fact for twenty years i was doing the bike and elliptic with no change in any of my blood numbers .
it wasn’t until i really taxed my system with running that any effect at all was seen .
once i started running 3 miles every other day my pressure and sugar took drastic drops
you need to work at 80% of max heart rate for it to really do much cardio good unless you are so out of shape walking gets you up that high.
and when you do intense cardio it is important to rebuild muscle from burning fat and muscle off . that takes resistance training and that doesn’t come from carrying the groceries or walking the dog
