This is just Bernie Goetz all over again except instead of a gun it was a wrestling move.
Well, lefties tell us we don't need guns, because guns bad. But when someone uses a non-gun means of self defense, then that's bad too and the thug is a victim of course. Stands to reason woke lefties do NOT support self defense - criminals are a protected class. Absolutely horrifying.
They are saying that the Marine was dishonorably discharged and a white supremacist with ulterior motives. Anybody have an idea on whether this is just more woke propaganda?
Perhaps white supremacists wouldn't have a leg to stand on if clear threats were neutralized. I am tired of the freedom and liberty slippery slope theater that has led to the deaths of innocent children. If there were any women or children on that train he should have been put down and incapacitated.
I am a Black man that is tired of being caught in the middle of emotional anarchist socialists and racist MAGA extremists. The undesirables in society who look like me are used to pigeonhole me into a corner politically and consequently, socioeconomically. We are going to have to learn as a society how to stop conflating individual racism with structural racism and structural disenfranchisement. These are 3 things which may overlap but they are not the same. The Republicans need to come to the center and expunge racist elements in their party or Woke Democrats will run this city and country into the ground. We are going to become Baltimore and Chicago soon. Not good.
This individual who was killed should NOT have had the freedom to wander the subway aimlessly given his background. We put ankle monitors on juvenile delinquents but none on this guy? Ban these individuals from the subway or keep them institutionalized. That way the lines don't get blurred.
There is a concern that racist vigilantes use this as an excuse or justification to try and revive the old Ku Klux Klan and take out regular hard working Black people. We can address this by locking up proven psychotics with lengthy rap sheets. Then you can go ahead and ban vigilante behavior. Fire Alvin Bragg and bring in a sensible pragmatic DA that locks up career criminals and not random Black kids coming home from school.

If the Marine took him down and the guy died in a minute or two you could make a case that it was an accidental death. But he put him in a chokehold for 15 minutes so there was plenty of time for the Marine to think about what he was doing. He could have pinned the guy down by sitting on him or securing his arms around his back. Supposedly the Marine knew martial arts so he must have known what he was doing could kill the guy. Even if he wasn’t that skilled in martial arts I would assume he know what he was doing from his combat training.
Also have to wonder if the Marine was from NYC. If he wasn’t from here he might have overreacted to the threat the guy was presenting. Most New Yorkers wouldn’t think their lives were in danger by seeing a guy yelling on the subway. Ride the subway around the time school lets out and it can be a far scarier situation to see 20 kids out of control than a single mentally ill man yelling he has no money.
This reminds of the time a subway beggar decided to shoulder check me just as the door opened. I pushed her full force out the car. She was sprawled out on the platform as the door closed. Everyone in the car clapped. I’ve told that story here before.
Much better choice than a chokehold which even cops can’t use now. Effective, but I’d rather run for my life than be caught dead putting a black man in a chokehold now. I don’t care if he’s beating on a child. In NYC, the child’s family probably voted for this crap anyway. Ignore it unless you or yours are directly threatened.
I’m not losing everything I’ve worked for because I tried to protect an unknown (who likely is a lefty loser who hates me anyway) in this day and age.

Yup, just like Pantaleo didn’t use a chokehold at all. The public is mostly stupid and the media is mostly biased. If “necessary” for the narrative, simply waving at a black man can be twisted into an attempted chokehold.
