That would be incredibly racist. You don't know how hard it is to grow up in an oppressive racist impoverished environment that they have to turn to a life of crime as a result. There is still chance to rehabilitate since he's only 13 years old, just a baby really. Imagine how frightened and messed up he would be if locked up with hardened criminals. Hopefully some good will come out of this, he will reform and grow up to become a successful citizen and her life not lost on vain.

Amen. There is nothing wrong with not having kids. Some people have kids and don't want to be responsible. They just push the raising to schools/teachers and that is not the right way.
There's really no point anymore in voicing opinions over such matters. No one who matters cares. A white girl from out of state is considered an invader by the people who run this city now, they couldn't care less. They may voice some fickle empathy, but it's all lies.

Frankly a white girl from out of state and people like her are what holds the city's economy up. Which is the NYPD is now putting in a lot more patrols in the area (de Blasio went to Columbia).
I think this murder, along with Jersey City is going to lead to a political backlash and at least some of the recent reforms could be done. If Tessa can be killed, anybody can be killed.
The little murderer didn't know what he was doing or who he killed. Columbia University was a major and powerful proponent of these criminal justice reforms due to white guilt. I was there as a grad student and PERSONALLY knew the professors and students pushing for this.
Now that this happens, Columbia will be pushing for more police. This actually justifies what they did in buying up big parts of West Harlem and moving people out. They should buy out the Grant Houses and Manhattanville projects as well.
Sadly it just goes to show you cannot be nice to some people. There are people who all you can do is send them to the firing squad.

I agree with you on why abortions should be made legal to unfit mothers. They really should only have children when they are actually able to take care of them. Wanna have a child? Turn your life around.
