Hi everyone,
I've interviewed for a job in the MB area and am finding it difficult to find information about how easy/hard it is to meet new friends, what the singles scene is like (I'm not big into the clubs but do enjoy a wide variety of activities), etc. If anyone has any words of wisdom to share, I would be greatly appreciated. This would be great information to have as I try to make a decision about whether this is right for me.
Hi Jocealex.....
I'm not single but I'll try to help here. MB seems much more family oriented with a transient population. While I don't live here year round and I'm married, It just appears to be tough for single 30 - somethings. The upside is that Charleston seems to be a much better place to meet young professionals and it is about an hour and a half away...... If the job is wonderful, I'd say take it and plan to live in an area that will be convenient for frequent trips to Charleston. Good luck!!
There is a very active young professionals organization in Myrtle Beach. I've heard good things about it from some friends--they've got a lot going on and would be something you should definitely check out:
My husband works with mostly singles in their 20s and 30s and they have a lot of fun.
