First of all let me say, before this, I never heard of GOOOH, maybe I have been living under a rock. I am always hoping for a way to bring about positive change in Washington though so I proceeded to have a google marathon and, for me, this isn't it.
It seems like the group has two goals. The first, and what seems to be the priority, would be to oust all existing members of the House of Representatives. Yes, I think there are many who need to go. I have also found myself voting against and existing member as opposed to voting for a particular candidate. That being said, IMO, “out with old and in with the new” is not necessarily going to solve the problem, in fact in 2010 it could lead to MORE gridlock in Washington.
Next, it appears the group would like to get citizen representatives on the ballot and elected and eliminate the career Politian. Not a bad idea but then I read further and found that GOOOH originally proposed to exclude lawyers from their possible candidates. WHAT? I am not saying that you have to be a lawyer to be an effective member of the House but I am thinking it would be helpful to have a few around when sitting around making LAWS. I wouldn’t try to build a community without an architect or run a busy top notch restaurant without a chef. The fact that their initial intention was to prohibit lawyers from participating really makes me question their judgment.
