I am sure there are many around, but I find the worst traffic light/intersection to be Business 17 and Glenns Bay/Holmstown Roads. At times you sit on 17 at that red light for a long time. And because of that it gets backed up for miles. It seems to me that much of the traffic is either turning right or left off of 17, so there must be a way to make that intersection more efficient.

Believe it or not, it is SO much better than it used to be. That turning lane onto Glens Bay used to only hold about 10 cars and it was a short light so during busy week days, it could take you thirty minutes to get through. For ten years I drove from Garden City Beach to North Myrtle and that intersection was the bane of my existence.

I think an early left/right access before the light would be a big help. You would still have the light for straight through (Glenns Bay - Holmstown) but if you were coming off of 17 there would be a clover leaf type access to either.

You would be speaking of a jughandle/Jersey left scenario.
How is the amount of traffic on Glenn's Bay Road? Being a quick alternative from US 17 to South Kings Highway, I guess it would see use. If improvements are necessary, a turning lane would be beneficial. If traffic was bad, then widening it to four lanes plus the turning lane would be appropriate.
If US-17 is getting grade separated interchanges at select intersections, they should begin considering frontage roads.
