The mother was interviewd on the Today Show and there are now 3, perhaps 4, persons of interest in the case. She said that there were only 3 possibilities....that the young lady was either being held against her will, trafficked into slavery or not alive. She said that she was not unhappy with MB law enforcement....she thought they were doing a good job but that more could be done. Seems unlikely this will have a happy conclusion........ Hopefully something good for other teens will come out of both this and the Natalie Holloway disappearance. It's a vastly different world that 17 and 18 year olds are exploring now than it was just 10 or 15 years ago...........
When some one says oh no she would never run away I reminded of the girl that went missing in Texas.....they searched for her for years, tried to charge the boyfriend, tried to charge other people, was on America;s most wanted,etc....She turned up seven years later working in a Sam's Club in Ky.
Brittanee has been missing now for almost 1 yr (4/25/09). She is 17 now & i suspect foul play. She is a pretty petite girl & i hope they find her soon. She went to MB for spring break even though her mom told her she cant. Spring break seems to be all about alcohol & sex. SAD! Help us find Brittanee Marie Drexel
I was surprised they found any of her remains from reading a previous story about where they thought she was left and the alligators in the area. A sad outcome. I hope her friends and family can find some closure though
What is worse is that guy was given 40 years in prison for doing the same to a minor in CA only the minor escaped. He wasn't due to get out of jail until 2023...next year.
Instead CA released him after 20 years. And then he turned around and did the same thing only this time he murdered the victim.
This was a sad death that would not have happened had the prison system upheld his 40 year sentence

While what you said is completely true, it could also be said that If Brittannee had either A) listened to her parents, and stayed home; or B) not listened to her parents and took the trip anyway, BUT exercised some caution, and had not gone out alone at night, she'd still be alive, today.
In no way, shape, or form, am I excusing what the disgusting perp did, just saying that Brittannee could have exercised better judgement..........
