Hello! My husband and I are thinking about a visit to Myrtle Beach to celebrate Valentine's Day early. I've never been and am overwhelmed by the number of hotels online. Any suggestions for a mid-priced, oceanfront hotel that won't be overrun by kids??

Myrtle Beach is a destination for families and usually is over run with kids. However, this time of year when kids are in school you should be fine.

If you want a nicer & classier beach you might also want to consider Hilton Head Island (near Savannah) or Kiawah Island (near Charleston).

Both Hilton Head & Kiawah, you can visit either historic Charleston or Savannah depending on which beach you choose.

Which ever beach you choose, you should get good rates this time of the year.

Good luck & Enjoy!

Some favorites in Myrtle Beach include Compass Cove, Kingston Plantation, Dayton House, Landmark Resort, Ocean Reef. These are all nice and during the Valentine's Day time shouldn't break your budget.

I'll second the recommendation for the Charleston area instead. Isle of Palms is especially nice, in addition to Kiawah Island.
