I was at CCU last week with my wife and daughter. We loved it. I too noticed the low graduation and retention rates but the school has quality. Like in any other school, it's what you make of it. So, my daughter is looking at the Resort and Tourism BS program at the Wall business college. The program requires 3 internships and CCU is more of a "teaching" school as opposed to a level one research institution. My daughter made up her mind and she's heading to CCU. Now I'm thinking about relocating to SC, not because of my daughter (well, a little) but because I've wanted to moved down South for a awhile now. Oh yes, i'm from NYC.
I was half kidding about moving out of NY. I'm out of here ( NY ) in the next 4 months. It's a whole different world down there. One I can't wait to explore & enjoy.
Half of CCU's students come from out of state and there is a very large NY/NJ population so your daughter should not feel culturally adrift if she enrolls there. Since half of the students _aren't_ from your area she would also be exposed to different points of view that would be intellectually enriching. It is a wonderful area and you will find it increasingly hard to tear yourself away after each visit. Believe me, I know.

Are you saying that the local point of view is ignorant?
