neece...I'm with you - I love MM, I'm ashamed to admit!
I love the clips they show at the beginning and then the occasional shot of the area during the shows. Since I'm not there (yet), it's great to see these shots!
The photos of the MI house remind me of the old houses we used to rent at Pawley's back in the day....never as big as this one, but that old, arrogantly shabby look I love!
Oh, good grief! Here we go again! I heard this morning that much of the show isn't even being recorded in Murrells Inlet and that it will take place somewhere around Andrews ... As much as I know the term "reality" is being used extremely loosely, I am sure I will be tuning in. Heck, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Myrtle Manor to start back up.
I sat at the church last night( in Murrells Inlet ) and watched some of the filming. Looks like a very young group. Looking down at the alligator paths in the tall grass below me, then looking over at the young lad doing flips into the marsh water. Yikes!
Lots of rope swings, hammock, outdoor areas all lit up.
They were using the two homes next to Olivers. It was interesting for sure.
That is very interesting. It is nice to see that many turned down the offer as that is free exposure for them. Free media attention across the nation.
I honestly don't know what I would do in their shoes. A chance to have attention brought to your business. There is lots of bucks to be made. I'm sure that is foremost on their minds.
Then again, if you love your community and like how its quaintness and quirkiness shines just as it stands, why do it?
I can almost guess what businesses said yes, and I am sure you can too.
I was down that way tonight and didn't see any action behind the houses. We wanted to show our friend where the filming was.

Shabby and neece...Now your just gonna' make me look at MM...
Watch it, I resemble that remark. BTW, Shabby, as a Texan do you follow Doonesbury??
Sorry 'bout the remark, but hey, you're a DEMOCRAT so you should be more tolerant!
And BTW, I am NOT a Texan, I'm a South Carolinian who moved here for a job and cannot wait to get back to my "high-class" state! Yes, I have followed Doones since it first came out! And yep, they're serious here in Texas about seceding!
Honey Boo Boo earned a question on Jeopardy ... not just when the young kids were competing but the adults last night ... double last names people are known as.
I never watched MM but over in another section of this forum I did read some comments from a NY woman never planning to move south due to our intelligence evidenced by MM, Honey Boo Boo and other southern reality shows. LOL
