LOL!! Can you only imagine the condition our world would be in if we all emulated the "manner and standards" of our elected officials.

Great post, neecie

Default Very strange.....

Bizarro update! The town of Surfside Beach is stating on their facebook page that Nibils never put in a bid, either time! What is going on?

Oh thats very sad news indeed. My winter home is at Surfside Beach.....( I'm missing you)

The politics of it makes me feel I am in Scranton, Pa listening to all the townfolks there..( or on here)

It was such a charming, family place. We'd have lunch and then I'd sit with my Mom
on the bench outside, in the winter sun....looking out at the ocean.

I loved when the townpeople took over the restaurant to help the restaurant owner attend something...( forgetting what that was now)

Maybe the cost to lease had become to high.....or perhaps their insurance?

They don't consider it a bid because according to them it was incomplete. That is why they said that they must re-bid (someone on council might want to look up the definition of that word ). The second time Nibils withdrew their bid before the deadline, so again, technically they never bid. All just more BS ....

Also, on the link you provided Vrexy was a post regarding statements that Deaton made on the subject. I thought they were interesting so I am posting the article from the Myrtle Beach Herald. These particular comments are down the bottom.

Myrtle Beach Herald (http://www.myrtlebeachherald.com/v2/content.aspx?ID=26386&MemberID=1807 - broken link)

Quote:
Surfside Beach Mayor Allen Deaton said the town can now put out a “For Lease” sign on the restaurant.
“We’ve put the lease out for bids twice now,” Deaton said. “Now we can lease it to anybody we choose. It doesn’t have to be a restaurant.”
Concerning the emotions surrounding the bidding process and Nibils’ leaving, Deaton said many people don’t realize that, as a government body, the town has certain procedures it has to follow.
“We play by a different set of rules,” he said. “I don’t understand the mentality of all these people who are so upset.”
hmmm isn't that interesting?

Allen Deaton must be a bigger idiot than I thought, judging by his comments above. Wow.

I wonder what "set of rules" they play by. Must be the one where you make them up as you go along!

Jackie Sifonios is now AKA Jacqueline Rempfer. She married Bill Rempfer's son. I know this for a fact because I know her. She used to work at Dolce Lusso as a nail technician and did my nails several times. I also recognized her in the cooking video with Cecil.
