love, love, love that last picture of the water. So serene. Can I ask where it was taken?

That is at Gooseberry Falls State Park just in front of the CCC building (Lodge) The other two are in George Crosby Manitou while snowshoeing 4.25 miles round trip.

Went on the Gooseberry Falls website - they have a Candlelight Ski on February 19th, sounds absolutely heavenly: candlelight, fireplaces, snow, snacks, music. Winter as it should be.

Down here where I currently am living in North Carolina, it's sticky, humid, and 60 something degrees, in February. Everyones talking about how much thery're just LOVING the warm weather, and can't wait for Spring. Not me. Hope to travel up that way in the very near future. Thanks for posting such pretty pictures - and also for the info.

Spotted in St Paul this morning. They really like snow forts here.

And this is after several days of above freezing temperatures! I bet it was even bigger last week.

Default North Minneapolis Homes

When you mention North Minneapolis, most folks have pre-conceived notions of what housing is like. Here are a selection of homes you may not expect to see in your travels of this part of town:

Mansions -

Painted Ladies -

Bungalows and Victorians -

... and yes, some teardowns & slumlord tenament houses -

But the difference between a blighted property and a showpiece is sometimes as simple as a coat of paint and some attention:

How about a little Buffalo Ridge in western Minnesota. Taken in 2005.
