That's what most of Minnesota is, too. Not all of the state is like Southern Minnesota, which is really more like an extension of Iowa.

We don't travel to MN to see something different, we go there to buy stuff cheap basically. I kind of wanted to know why you guys come here since to me, there isn't really a reason..(well to go Thunder Bay/Winnipeg). Its more expensive, Minniapolis is much safer than Winnipeg and cleaner. And Thunder Bay(my hometown) is just gross and boring.
This is what I was curious about - what Canadians think of the MN and Minneapolis. I've never been to Canada, but have been to the Twin Cities a lot and always imagined it must be kind of like nearby areas of Canada.

I've been to Canada a couple of times. Purely for entertainment. Once, to go w/ a friend to see a girl he met that was from Winnipeg and the other time just because we were near the US/Canada Border and ended up in Thunder Bay. We did go to Kakabeka Falls. I would like to see British Columbia.

My biggest complaint the one time that I visited Canada was how rude the other drivers are and I have to think it's only because they see the US plates on my car. As you know, Canadians drive on the wrong side of the road up there and their speed limits are set at an ungodly high number. I think in town they were posted at 50 and out on the highway they were listed at 80 everywhere you go. The Canadians would see me coming and swerve head-on into my lane all the while flashing their brights, honking and giving me the finger...how rude! Drove from Thunder Bay all the way around to Sault Ste Marie and spent a great deal of the time while gazing out onto the lake with one eye fixed on the oncoming traffic dodging them as they tries to crash into me. I do wish our money was as pretty as theirs though.

Canadians drive on the right - both meanings of right - side of the road, and the speed limits are in kph.

I remember when they used to use MPH and Imperial Gallons, tho. It wasn't all that long ago. 30 years?

Metric usage and metrication in other countries

Changed in the 70s.

However, the change to the right side of the road was much older and in many areas that had always been the procedure.
