Where did all the Embers go? (Eden Prairie, Roseville: house, restaurants, food)

Quite a few years ago there was a restaurant chain called The Embers restaurants. I know they did not do very well and a lot of them went out of business. However I keep seeing little articles that they might still be around. If you know of any of these restaurants please tell me where they are cuz I would love to get another Emburger.

What I remember is the commercial jingle with the line... remember the Embers!

I probably haven't heard it in 30 years but for some reason that jingle is fresh in my mind. Weird, the odd little things that somehow we remember when we forget 99.9% of everything else we experience.

Now who remembers Poppin' Fresh?

It's apart of what we call the "only one" group of restaurants. Only one left in the Twin Cities. Same with Checkers, Old Country Buffet, Cracker Barrel, Rocky Rococo, Dan Pablos (Though I think their last location in Eden Prairie closed too), Fuddruckers, Long John Silvers, etc.

Theres probably more restaurants that I am missing.

Also Happy Chef in Mankato is an example of an "only one" restaurant left, and that one there is only one left nationwide of what used to be a chain of restaurants.

I was under the impression that there was only one Uncle John's Pancake House left in Toledo but apparently there are a few in California too.

Joe's Crab Shack is another one -- just the Roseville location left here; I know there was at least one more.

Checkers could have two if you count St. Francis as part of the Twin Cities.

Oh, can't forget Hooters. Just one left when there used to be several.

I think Perkins might be the most prolific chain restaurant where a server takes your order at a table (so am excluding fast food like McDonald's, KFC, etc) left in Minnesota with 70 locations. I checked their website.

Am surprised to hear there are just two Embers restaurants left.
