Applebee's by me closed as well. I haven't been to an Applebees in years, it's not my thing, but I will say this. Having worked there is college, despite all their mass appeal, they do make everything from scratch, and they do attempt to bring people together in small towns by practically inventing the half price apps after 9 promo that's become so popular. I'll give them that at least.

its a tough business, but let me tell you this - if your organization focuses on customer service, cleanliness and affordable prices, you'll stick around. Many of these now-gone places were poorly run by inept management. I recently went to a particular common breakfast place and ordered biscuits and gravy and it was god-awful. The service sucked and the place was gross. Well, I'll tell you where I won't be going in the future. Places like this will cry "competition" and other BS, but the fact of the matter is, they do nothing to stay competitive, which includes going out of the way to earn your customers' loyalty.

A Bank of America is going to be built where the Fridley Embers is. Before people start trash talking Bank of America and talking about how evil they are, a big bank like Bank of America or Wells Fargo (along with companies like Walgreens, CVS, Gas Stations, etc.) pay a pretty premium for prime pieces of real estate in prime locations. Add on the fact that traditional sit down restaurants have struggled in recent years against trendy "fast casual" restaurants and the COVID pandemic has made it astromically worse for restaurants overall, with traditional sit down ones being hit even harder then other kinds of restaurants such as fast food places.

If I own a restaurant during this disastrous time and a company like Bank of America comes along and offers me an insanely attractive price for my piece of real estate and property, i'm absolutely going to say yes and sell it and run off with the money laughing all the way to the bank.

Don't blame the bank, blame the owners of the Embers for selling it and saying yes. They could of very well told Bank of America to screw off and said they're not selling.

Consumers dictate the value of doing business, not the businesses themselves.
