Just curious to find out what neighborhood South Floridian's consider more dangerous. Aren't these the worst neighborhoods in Miami?

I'd say Liberty City. That's deep deep into the ghetto. OT has a lot of warehouses and jobsites. I used to work in OT every day going to day labor and walked back every day with no problem (when I was a 20 yr old WM). Also OT is right on the edge of downtown. You can walk to the Venetian Causeway from anywhere in OT in about 20 minutes. If you're in LC, you have a long walk back if your car breaks down.

I will say Liberty City is the more crime ridden and dangerous of the two. Overtown is quite scary, but being so close to downtown, the school board building, and a major police station makes it seem safer. Also, it is not as congested or densely populated as Liberty City. Overtown has way fewer apartments and more single family homes. As I write this, there was a shooting in Liberty City which resulted in the hospitalization of a teen. Not too long ago, there was a violent shooting rampage which left several teenagers dead. Overall, while I do not have any hard facts or statistics to back my claim, I will definitely say that Overtown is not as dangerous as Liberty City.

I don't think it matters too much, if your car breaks down in either of the two at night you're not sitting to well :P

liberty city, ot is more depressing though. but since its so small you wont have to worry that much. and yes liberty city, just had 4 teens shot in a drive-by in the pork n beans last night. mass shootings are common in liberty city.

They are both considered bad areas but I would say Liberty City is probably has the worse rep. Besides Liberty city is more isolated, so people really don't go there, and that probably makes them more scared of the place. Overtown being close to Downtown and Jackson hospital gets more traffic so people are less afraid.

I've been in both places, Liberty city is depressing. It really looks like a third world country.

Are they the worst neighborhoods? Yes, but there are many more. Miami is full of bad areas. So is Broward and Palm Beach.

Well I can say OT is more dangeroius than LC because i have live in both for many years. But one thing about OT they are a family if you are from Ot you are in good hands no one will bother you at all. In LC you hve to be with someone from that hood to be safe. But again you can walk down the streets and no one will bother you. I have seen when white people couldn't walk down the streets in LC and get bbet up for no reason at all.

Never been in those ghettos! But I've been in Opa Locka, West Little River (NW area), East Little Havana (very rough part) and the rough part of Coconut Grove! Just be careful and speed up as much as you can if unfortunately you step those places!

Is Opa Locka worse than Overtown or Liberty city?
