Wow, not born there, but my B' Day was in March the same year as yours, mine was in the South of the Southern Hemisphere.

Default Adoption connection?

I was born at Edgewater at the end of 1948. There is no doctor listed on my birth certificate, but it is an amended birth certificate because I was also adopted. I think it is interesting how many people on here were adopted. I wonder about the healthy boy who "died" with no explanation. Mine was a private adoption and I have since located my birth mother. I wonder if there was some connection between the hospital and adoption agencies.

I was born also in Edgewater Hospital on February 22 1953: On the birth certificate it says T.E.Cato,MD and just learned from my older sister that my mother was asked, do you want to put him up for adoption. My mother had me at 43 years old and got mad at the doctor for saying that according to my sister. My father probably would though! I was the last of 6 kids. I had a niece the same age as me.I wonder if there was some connection between the hospital and adoption agencies. I wonder why that hospital now to.Maybe my father had some reason to go there.Makes me think!! I moved out of Miami in 1981 to New Jersey were the other kids were born. My sister thinks the hospital was in North Miami.

I was born March 15, 1950 at this hospital according to my mother. My father was a doctor in Miami and we lived at 370 Wren Avenue, Miami Springs. I wonder, is there is photo the old building anywhere?

I was born in Edgewater Hospital in Miami, Florida in June of 1953. I think I was between 9-11 years old when my mother and I were going shopping in Miami and she pointed to an area to her left and said, "Edgewater Hospital where you were born used to be over there, but they tore it down". And we continued on our way. I never thought to ask about why. I just assume it was old and they used the land to build something else. i have two older brothers that were born in St Joseph hospital in Tampa, but my Dad got a job with Eastern Airlines in Miami before I was born. They liked telling the story that my brothers asked if the baby was a girl could I be named after their friend and I was. I've seen a few posts about people that were adopted from there, but I'm sure all hospitals have that history. I definitely "have" my father's eyes and my mothers, hands and legs! But I agree, it would be nice to have a picture of it. When our four Children were young we took them to see the hospital where they were born and took their pictures outside with the hospital name on the sign. They were each born in a different hospital: Illinois, Florida, and 2 in Georgia.
