That is what Long Island will do to you - make you a raving mad animal - Just take a ride on the "Miracle Mile" - and see all the love and compasion the Islanders share with one another while a Lexus and Mercedes battle it out for a parking spot to get their 9 inch nails done.

Oooh, thank you
That’s because its beyond the cerebral aptitude of the average good for nothing Long Island princess housewife or sheeple.

Haa Haa with the 9 inch nail princesses, they will deliberately hit&run you then hide behind a lawyer (many times thats the workaholic husband).
Not only at Hell Mile but EVERY Main street in the area in 2007. The kids driving the brand new sport utilitys are even worse BTW.
What you have here is a bunch of dinosaurs who don't mind paying the property taxes as long as they can keep pretending that it's 1960.
With some development, mass transit, and modern leadership, it could be a halfway decent place. As soon as suburbicanus prehistoricus is in his proper place in the Museum of Natural History, maybe that will happen.
You know, it's occurred to me that people such as JoeL are performing a public service here in several ways:
(1) They make us appreciate the people we know who judge others solely on the basis of their actions and character rather than on their ethnicity, religion, or profession.
(2) Rebutting their constant criticisms reminds us of the many things that we love about Long Island but often take for granted much of the time.
(3) They provide excellent examples of the tastelessness and futility of ad hominem attacks in any discussion.
Their posts can even provide some comic relief, in a "Jerry Springer" sort of way...

I have no problem whatsoever understanding Joe L.
