Is anyone experiencing any flooding in their neighborhood? I work in Farmingdale will be heading home in 1 hour. I heard some parts of Nassau County the streets are very flooded. I live in Islip so not sure if it's that bad there. I hope everyone is safe and no one has flooding in their basement. BTW unless you have flood insurance the after effects of todays storm that can potentially flood your basement is not covered. It's called Seepage.

Till it gets in your house or car, then it's a big problem.

Saw on the weather channel that Hempstead Tpke was closed in Elmont.

The pictures from Brooklyn are insane.

JFK ended up getting 8.5" of rain out of this. Almost 6 inches in Central Park.
I don't remember such a steady torrent of rain like this for such a prolonged period (started last night maybe 1am ish?).

Is there a site on the internet that informs a person of which roads, or portions of roads, in Nassau County are flooded at any given time?

The amount of water on the roads yesterday was incredible! So many local roads were closed.
I'm glad I don't have an electric vehicle - all those deep "puddles" can't be good for the batteries.

My trip from the office, which normally takes between 10-12 minutes, took over an hour because of all the necessary detours

Those EV are actually safer. The batteries are sealed no water will get in. They won’t stall like a gas car as water will eventually get sucked up and hydro lock the engine.

Very true unless it’s salt water. God forbid there’s another sandy/hurricane flooding issue. Don’t risk electric with flooded sea water.
