Sear belts? On a charter bus? That teenagers would have worn if they were available? Come on now.

Of course there will be lawsuits.

There are no seat belts on school busses either.

Do people even read the things they type before they hit "submit reply" to see if it makes any sense?

I’m pretty sure school buses do have seat belts these days.

New interstate coach buses built 2016 or later must have seat belts for driver and passengers. It seems that the bus in this accident is nine years old. As the driver did not perish, I presume she was belted in.

There is no law requiring passengers in buses, including school buses, to wear seatbelts

When my kids were in Kindy, 15+ years ago, I went to a PTA meeting where some parents were agitating for the kids to be belted in by the drivers of the bus. The person from transportation simply said "what time do you think the bus might have to start their route to accomplish that? And how many kids do you think will complain that the bus driver was touching their private parts?"

Crickets in response.

At any rate, as noted, charter buses do not have seatbelts so it's a moot point.
