Apparently Adams is getting nowhere with Biden on this issue:

CNN

The relationship between President Joe Biden’s White House and Eric Adams began breaking down in private months earlier than previously known – and long before the New York mayor started publicly blasting the president over the migrant crisis in his city.

Does Biden even realize he should guard the border?

"Joe Biden" doesn't realize anything. He's 100% a doddering old fool who should be sitting on his porch in Delaware throwing balls to his dog [that likes to assault SS agents]. No one voted for "Joe Biden" they voted for "Not Trump" and they got what they asked for. Except it's not Joe pulling the strings, it's a bunch of the worst people ever doing that, with him as a figurehead.

He never thought a woke virtue signal would make him look phonier than ever. NYT runs cover for the woke crew so you won’t find much coverage there.
You only have to scratch surface to understand why Murphy is waffling; it comes down to what it always does, local politics.

Biden is considering or wants to send migrants to Atlantic City International Airport located in one of the poorest NJ counties. There are very hot races in that area for upcoming elections. Murphy is not about to give local GOP clubs they can beat democrats about head with, so that's that.

Of course being federal property Biden can tell Murphy and by extension NJ to go pound salt and send migrants to that airport or elsewhere on NJ that is federal property.

Technically the civilian side of ACY is run and owned by the South Jersey Transportation Authority, a public benefit corporation of the State of New Jersey.... therefore state run and Murphy can control that...

however the other side of the airport is federal land and partly a Air National Guard Base.

I’m just shell shocked that our own government is just going to let this keep going. I mean when it the end game here ? Do they have a certain number of illegals in their heads to when they crack down and stop this madness? Or does or just keep going and going until the US is officially bankrupt.

Point is to scare middle class and make them work and be thankful.
Provide businesses with a stock of cheap labor.
When there are more workers than work, pay goes down, people are more obedient.

Supposedly Biden and his reps have told Dem leaders they will attempt to provide funding (not stop the influx) after Biden wins in 2024. Dem state leaders can't really wait a year and Biden's handlers won't give Repubs an easy win by sending massive amounts of freebies to illegals while citizens struggle with inflation, etc. That's why Kathy is silent and Adams isn't (anyone with a D in NYC will win).

This was a brilliant move by Abbott and company, even I would not have imagined the crisis would have morphed into this madness.

Folks were aghast walking into their midtown offices passing by illegals camped out in front of the historic Roosevelt Hotel (look how quickly they stropped that). Look at the protests on Staten Island after a Catholic school there was turned into housing for illegals. It will become the most polarizing issue of 2024 and remember moderate folks in the suburbs vote.

Don’t know why Florida and Texas didn’t start doing this sooner to better their state.

Sanctuary cities should have been getting this dose from day 1

As awful as it is to contemplate, it would be oddly reassuring if the folks running the gov’t now had a quota or thought-out plan of illegals to let in (say 5 million annually) but I suspect they are far too stupid for that.

Still quite baffling folks have lost faith in their gov’t and its institutions.

You notice for once AOC has largely kept her big mouth shut on this issue. That's how tricky things are for democrats in NYC as they try to sort out political winds regarding migrants.
