NY, LI in particular going all red cost Dems any shot in Congress in 22. If you think folks were outraged over cash bail, wait until the illegal alien issue impact hits closer to home. A Dem in the LI suburbs won't ever have chance at winning anything. It's probably going to be the biggest issue of 24. Cash bail will be childs play compared to this.

But they are already here, 25 plus to a house in the downtrodden parts of the Island.

At a certain point a critical mass of Dem politicians will compel Biden to enforce the law at the southern border. It is one of those situations where everybody (and I mean everybody) knows Biden is shirking his constitutional duties and only a very very few progressives think it’s a good thing.

Hochul barely won election last time around. She cannot afford to Moderator cut: language removed off upstate and suburban voters in great numbers if wants to be reelected at next election.

Meanwhile democrats in those said districts are tippy-toeing around the issue until they know how to play things.

Upstate and anything outside NYC hates her. She only won because of NYC and some Albany.

Her over-the-top Covid fear mongering (complete with a ridiculous ‘vaxxed’ gold necklace) had some appeal amongst the Uber-libs in NYC (and a few in Albany). Plus she had that ‘D’ after her name.

Not sure anybody thought she was, you know, bright and effective.

If this is going to be "settled in the courts", then NYC will win. Here's how the court system works in NY:

Tier 1: Supreme Court, each county has one and it has multiple judges, who are elected, and as you'd imagine the judges who are elected are representative of the electorate. EG, NYC Supreme Court Justices are almost all Democrats, Nassau/Suffolk are mixed, upstate are Republicans, etc. Your "should the migrants be shipped to Uniondale" case is brought here. If you lose, you appeal to:

Tier 2: Appellate Division, there are several regional divisions (or "departments" as they call them). These are made up of Supreme Court judges that are appointed by the governor. Given that we haven't had a Republican governor since Pataki, guess who they all are. If you lose, you appeal to:

Tier 3: Court of Appeals. They operate like the Supreme Court of the United States, IE, only take a smattering of cases per year and only if they want to. Also, appointed by the governor. Every single one of them (there are 7) were appointed by Cuomo or Hochul.

Ladies and germs, the Courts will not save us.

From a parent on a UAlbany Facebook group who booked a room at the Ramada hotel near UAlbany. There are currently at least 3 hotels in the vicinity packed with 'migrants'. Wonder how many who voted 'blue' are seeing 'red'?

(name redacted} there were about 15 security guards for a “group” per the front desk. It was dirty, seedy, and definitely not a place to stay. It was gross, I wouldn’t even sit on the bed.

He is trying but he is getting blocked by the courts as well.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...court-hearing/

"U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar in the Northern District of California, who blocked similar restrictions under the previous administration, said during a hearing that if he ruled against the Biden administration, he would hold off on enforcing his decision for two weeks so that the government could appeal."

Tigar is an open borders lunatic the activists judge shop for, he’s been overturned again and again

There is a lot of abandoned Malls space too. It can probably fit every migrant and the Homeless.

And for anyone who does not think it is suitable for habitation. It is close enough because it is structure for pedestrian to spend extended time in. The structure is quite suitable. The finishes not so much, but that can be changed.
